These are the subjects and content area the students
will be studying this
week.
Please make sure that your child goes over these areas of study with
you.
Virtue of the Month: Self Control and Self Discipline. *
Saxon Math: Lessons 21-25 and Assessment 4 - on dividing a
square into three equal parts, identifying and shading thirds, rewriting
numbers by regrouping tens and ones, making an organized list, counting dimes,
nickels, and pennies, writing fractions using the fraction bar, adding 9, and
writing fraction number sentences that equal 1. *
History: World Rivers- Lesson 1- Rivers Bring Life to
Farms and Cities and Lesson 2- Rivers Make Our Lives Better. *
Religion: Session 5-Celebrating Ordinary Time.
Science:
Finishing up the unit on Classification of Animals- Mammals, Birds,
Fish, Amphibians, and Reptiles. Unit Test on Wednesday. *
Literature: Read and discuss the book Bunnicula. Go
over Oct. book report. *
English:
Review of subjects and predicates. Saxon Phonics Lesson 5 - on
vowel-consonant-e, silent e and final -ve. *
Vocab./ Spelling: Unit 1 in vocab. on definitions, synonyms and
antonyms on words, completing the sentence and word associations. Spelling- on
words with v-e, silent e, and -ve. Spelling
test on Friday. *
Art & Music: Draw and color a picture of their animal that
they are writing a poem on.
October leaf scratching art.

Check white envelope for: Reminders, information for Oct., and corrected
work to be filed in their 3 ring binders.
Reminders: Blessing of the animals is on Thursday at
2:00. We will start walking down
to the church with our animals at 1:55.
Friday is a half-day of school with dismissal at 12:00 and the children
have free dress! Have a terrific
week!
