These are the subjects and content area the students will be studying this
week. Please make sure that your child goes over these areas of study with you.
Virtue of the Month: Respect and Responsibility *
Saxon Math: Lessons 11-15 and Assessment test 2 on some more and some went away story problems, dividing squares into two and four equal parts, identifying congruent shapes, counting dimes and nickels and comparing the values of sets of coins, adding 10 to a two-digit number, and addition facts- sums of 10. *
History: Review of Canada. The map of Canada. Canada Unit test on Thursday. *
Religion: Read and discuss about how to be respectful and responsible. Session 3- on God is our Father.
Socratic Seminar: Lesson 2- a fair and just judge.
Science: Classification of Animals – Reptiles, Amphibians, Mammals, Birds and Fish. Make a quail call and learn about the different sounds and calls for animals. Discuss the different beaks and feet of birds and how they are used. *
Literature: Read Alice in Wonderland and Teacher’s Pet. Discuss Fiction and Nonfiction. Phonics- Lesson 3 on blends. *
Vocab./ Spelling: Lesson 3 – on blends: k and c spelling rule and j and g spelling rule. Spelling test on Friday. *
Art & Music: Chameleon art- what is your talent that God gave you to use for His glory? Music class on Tuesdays. *
Computers: Computer classes on Monday. *
Check envelope for: Reminders, information for Sept., and corrected work to be filed in their 3 ring binders.
