These are the subjects and content area the students
will be studying this
week.
Please make sure that your child goes over these areas of study with
you.
Virtues of the Month: Self Control and Self Discipline. *
Saxon Math: Lessons 36-40 and Assessment 7 on quarters,
finding half of a set of objects, adding three or more single-digit numbers,
telling and showing time to the five-minute intervals, identifying a.m. and
p.m., the number of minutes in an hour and the number of hours in a day, making
a table to solve a problem, and drawing and reading a pictograph. *
History: World Rivers review. Rivers Unit Test on
Tuesday. *
Religion: Preparation for First Reconciliation. Chapters 1-2 on we are called to serve
one another, Baptism, God gives everyone life, original sin, and the
sacraments.
Science: Review of the skeletal System and the joints:
ball and socket, hinge, and sliding joints. We will build a model of a leg and attach muscles to it
seeing how the muscles actually work.

Literature: We will read and continue discussing the story
Bunniculua. Phonics Lesson 9 – on final stable syllables. *
English:
Writing a friendly letter and the parts of a letter. Sayings: “Beat around the bush” and
“Beggars can’t be choosers.” Go over November Book Report. *
Vocab./ Spelling: Unit 3 in vocab. on definitions, synonyms and
antonyms on words, completing the sentence and word associations. Lesson 9– spelling final stable
syllable words. Spelling Test on Friday. *
Art & Music: We will be assembling our turkey centerpieces
for the Sr. luncheon on Friday and finishing up our skeletons. *
Check white family envelope for: Reminders, information for Oct. and Nov. and
corrected work to be filed in their 3 ring binders.
