These are the subjects and content area the students
will be studying this
week.
Please make sure that your child goes over these areas of study with
you.
Virtue of the Month: Charity *
Saxon Math: Lessons 51-55 on subtracting a number from 10,
constructing a number line, adding two-digit numbers using the addition
algorithm, using estimation to verify the reasonableness of calculated results,
and drawing and measuring line segments to the nearest half inch. *
History: The Earliest Americans – Lesson 7- the eastern
woodlands. *
Science: Review of the
brain parts and functions of the nervous system. Nervous System Test on Wednesday. Label the parts of the ear and eye. Complete a sense of sight activity
about how our eyes work. *
Religion: Advent and the preparation for Jesus’ birth.
Literature:
Finish reading Pocahontas and we will start reading Goliath’s
Christmas. Complete
comprehension questions of the stories.
Read and discuss the story, Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves. *
English:
Phonics- Lesson 12 on sight words.
Grammar- predicates. *
Vocab./ Spelling: Unit 4 on definitions, synonyms and antonyms on
words, completing the sentence and word associations. Spelling words on sight words. Spelling Test and Vocab. Test on Friday. *
Art & Music: Finish making Native American sand paintings,
masks, and dream catchers.
Christmas decorations. Music- We will be putting on a Christmas
performance singing Dec. 19th.
Check white envelope for: Reminders, information for Dec., and corrected
work to be filed in their 3 ring binders.
Reminders: Friday is a half day with dismissal at 12:00 and
Free Dress.
