Curriculum Guide for the Week of December 17-21st


December 17, 2012

These are the subjects and content area the students will be studying this
week.  Please make sure that your child goes over these areas of study with you.

Virtue of the Month: Charity.  *

Saxon Math: Lessons 60-63 on subtracting a multiple of 10 from a number using mental computation, estimating, squaring numbers, identifying perfect squares, and simplifying expressions with exponents of 2.  *

Science: Review for test on the parts of the eye and ear, sound and hearing, and how the eye and ear works.  Quiz on Thursday.  *

Religion: Advent: the preparation for Jesus’ birth. 

Literature: Finish reading Pocahontas and Very Merry Christmas Tales.  Journal writing. *

Vocab./ Spelling: Vocab. Unit 5 on definitions, synonyms and antonyms on words, completing the sentence and word associations. There will be no Spelling Test due to the Christmas pageant and Christmas activities.  *

Art:  Christmas crafts and decorations.  *

Check folder for: Reminders, progress reports, ITBS Testing results, information for Jan., and corrected work to be filed in their 3 ring binders. 

Reminders:  Grandparents Day and Lunch is Wednesday at 11:30, Christmas Pageant is Wednesday eve at 7:00 p.m.,  All School Mass Thursday at 8:00, and ½ day of school is on Friday!  Whew….then Christmas break!  Christmas blessings to all of you and your families.  Cheers, Love and Prayers!  See you next year.
